Low Budget Scope Camera

1. Samsung S5 phone or whatever you have unused with a removable aftermarket case.
2. PVC pipe bored to firm fit on scope od pipe length is determined by eye relief added to length needed to slide over scope barrel.
3. Rough up cam case to help the glue to stick
4. Locate cam lens center and pencil mark cam case
5. Remove the camera from the case
BEFORE YOU
6. Glue pvc pipe to camera case.
7. Wrap od of scope with tape to match max od on eyepiece for firm but adjustable fit.
8. The pics are self explanatory, surely the combined wisdom will have many new ideas.
Mine is 6 years old, thinking upgrade its time.

If you hang on the right side of the scope the phone weight tightens the ocular. my tape holds firm enough to do either side.
It makes for a very educational tool.
Recoil videos help sort poor hold habits.
Im terrible.....

That is exactly what I needed to capture Jupiter last Wednesday. I just managed to snap the following image with a 25X LER eyepiece on my Kowa spotter. Sure can’t hold as steady as 40 years ago.
With your “solution”, I could likely use my 60X eyepiece to really zoom in.

A bit of chromatic aberration due to off center capture. Likely can’t make it out, but the fourth of her many moons is barely visible closest to the flare of planet’s image.
