Love my 22lr rifle

I started with nothing. I still have some left.

I've been getting frustrated with center fire rifles. Spending a lot of time and money on reloading components. So I grabbed my Cooper m57 and headed of to the range. I haven't shot this rifle in about 4 years. I have 3 bricks of Lapua Midas Plus. It loves this round. Shooting bug holes at 50 yards. I shot a couple of 1/2 in groups at 100 yards, just for fun. That WAS fun!
Got it home, 4 patches and it was clean. Scoped the bore.... pristine.
I've had this rifle for about 15 years, probably 5000 rounds thru it. No worries about shooting out the barrel. Just shoot it, clean it and love it.
I do love tinkering with my cf reloading, but the pure simplicity of this rim fire rifle is real joy.

I have one of the last Kimbers in .22LR that they made before they discontinued them. A joy to shoot and no reloading. A win win in my book! I threaded the barrel and run my suppressor most of the time. Scary quiet with sub-sonic ammo.

I did not know Kimber discontinued their rim fire rifle. The LVT was on my short list when I got the Cooper.

Yeah the .22 is a blast. Had a CZ for a while before getting my Vudoo about 4 years ago and the Vudoo is one of my favorite rifles. Super accurate and as mentioned .22s are low maintenance and last forever.

Wish I had that kind of money, but I love my 10-22s. I love my ruger american rimfire also and by the way I love my cz 455 varmint. Sleeping on a case of 22 lr I bought for 25 a brick about Thanksgiving of 2019

My 2nd rimfire rifle was a 10-22. My dad bought it in 1970. We still have it and it's still shooter. My younger brother hits marbles at 25 yards with it.

Centerfire is too much of a PITA to shoot, manage and reload. Can't beat the good old 22 LR. I love my CZ 452 with an MDT chassis and my Vudoo KRG. However, when I get painfully low on ammo, I turn to my PCP air rifles. They are just about as accurate. The first target is my FX Impact 25 cal air rifle, second is the Vudoo and the third is my CZ 452.

I have 2 model 82's hunters with original Talley rings made for Kimber mid 80's. And 1 Model 84 K22. They are so fun to shoot. Super accurate with premium 22 bullets.

You don't specify what pellets you are using in the FX Impact but it should do better than that. One thing I noticed early on about all of the FX line is that you have to keep them clean. Max of twenty pellets between cleanings on mine if I really want to shoot small groups.

But it looks like you did fine with all three. Sounds like a fun day at the range.

A person too often forgets how relaxing and satisfying it is to switch from the various center-fires to spend a session with the 'lowly' .22 can be. A few years ago I went in search of an 'adult' size .22. to supplement my several .22 handguns and rifles. I love Rugers, but the reviews for the old 'Mark" series were all over the place. On a whim, as well as a curiosity about the action style, I settled on the Browning T-Bolt with a varmint barrel (actually just what I would call a medium weight). Even with cheap, bulk Remingtons and Federal Champions it shot around an inch at fifty yards, but it was an effort with the lowest setting of the trigger pull. Immediately voiding the warranty, I did some work on the trigger and springs to reduce it from a low of 3.5 pounds to 1.5. Now it regularly hovers around 2 to 2 1/2" at 100 yards even with that cheap ammo. Easily 'minute of gopher' and cheap, fun shooting!

I was using 25 caliber JSB 25.4 gr domed pellets. I think some of the earlier FX smooth twist barrels needed more frequent cleaning, but my rifles don't.
