Seemed pretty specific to me.

Yet here you are, saying nothing about them...

I was just offering a viable alternative, in case he was weighing more than one option. Glad we have posting police to keep folks like me straight. Carry on...

They use a special steel made exclusively for them. I have read that it is a pain to machine properly and takes a particular technique, so for many machinists it's just too much trouble. But I have to tell you that having worked with German steel for many years, I am constantly impressed as to how superior it is to US made 4130 steel. I say give it a try and let us know how it performs.

They are top on my list for my next barrel.

yes Criterion is an option but I have heard good things about LW in 22 cal barrels 3 groove I think

A friend of mine has one on an AR10 that shoots bugholes. Over 10,000 rounds and still going. The LW50 steel is really hard. Gunsmiths hate chambering it.

Have a Lothar Walther in .243, S.S., 28" long. Bought it 8 or 10 years ago. Bore scoped it and the bore was flawless. I'm not positive but it sure looked like it was lapped. Fitting (head spacing) it was a breeze. Excellent barrel. Shot very well. My handloads were Winchester brass, 106 SMK or 105 Lapua Scenars, H 1000, Fed. standard primers. If their the same now as they were then you're GTG.
