Loose Primer Pockets

Seems that I remember a tool or kit for tightening primer pockets. Did they work? I don't need to tighten the pockets much. Who makes them? Does anyone know how they worked? How much do they cost? Thanks, Paul

There was a fellow I used to shoot with, who designed a tool to accomplish that task. His (I have no experience with any others) his was needed to be used from the get-go. I tried it AFTER my pockets were loose and it did tighten them up, however, that lasted only 1 shot. I was not about to go thru my cases every time I shot them to extend their useful life. It was too time consuming and labor intensive. I decided to just buy new brass. However, that may not be the case with other like tools. I don't know as I have only used the one..

RW Hart makes a tool idential to the description above. And I have heard the same thing. You need to do it before each shot. Very labor intensive.

Just another thought in the discussion about primer pockets; if you have the problem, check your new brass and bolt face. If new brass case heads have any concave, pockets will get looser upon firing, and if bolt face has any concave, same effect. This situation is not the norm, but I have heard of it, even with Lapua brass, so something very subtle to keep in mind.

I've just noticed a small differance in my latest batch. I'm dealing with expensive (300 RUM) and a wildcat so I'm trying to make them last as long as possible. Thanks, Paul
