So who here is vain enough to only own a gun if it looks good?? An old man once told me that if you can't shoot good then you better make darn sure you look good! It makes it that much worse when it gets a ding or mark but there is something about keeping it all clean and pretty IMHO.

Beauty is only skin deep but ugly is to the bone.
Beauty stands out in a crowd but ugly stands alone. ;)
You CAN have a good looking rig that IS a shooter. Just a matter of your own perspective.
In my younger years, I went hunting with a friend that had a BEAUTIFUL rifle. It started to rain, his rifle got wet and he started to cry. ::) It takes all kinds.
Me? Not vain enough to only have a rig because it looks good. Gotta be a shooter! ;D

I had 2 rifles that I thought were the most gorgeous things with triggers!! One was a Voere Shikar in .270 and the other was a Rem 600 Magnum (18" vent rib barrel) in 350 Rem mag... They BOTH shot very well >> BUT LOOKS--- They were something to behold!!

I love seeing some of the beautiful set ups out there. At a match I like to walk down the line and see all the rifles.

I love a good looking rifle as well. But, form follows function and one of the most beautiful things to me is a very functional, well thought out rifle setup. I dont care how much you spent on it, I want to see a rifle that shoots well and that you can shoot well.

Absolutely, they have to look good and shoot well! And I'm not against taking my custom guns out in bad weather either.... you just have to know how to clean them up when you're done for the day.
I see it like this, having an ugly gun that shoots is kinda like dating an ugly woman with brains :-[..... not my cup of tea, I want it all ;D.

Reminds me of the saying us poor motor heads used to say about Hot Rods, "If it don't go, chrome it." ;D

I like the way you think! lol

With the amount of money we invest in a gun, scope, components, etc.etc, that little bit of extra money and time to have it "looking good", is well worth it ;) I do the same thing with my vehicles and motorcycles 8)

I great looking gun is a piece of art. Like a beautiful woman, great to look at, but much better when you hold them and squeeze gently ..... :P

A side benefit of looking good is that if it shoots like crap, at least it looks good. Like Billy Chrystal says you may feel bad, but you look marvelous !!!!! ;D

I can't decide what I like the most, Wood, laminate with lots of clear coat, or painted??? My gun now is painted and I love it but I wish it was a laminate every time I bump it or ding it with the bolt or something.

I had one bad experience with a wood stock, while they look beautiful I just don't think you can get them to track like a laminate or synthetic. JUST FROM MY EXSPERIENCE

A handsome gun motivates me to use it well. I am proud of my best looking equipment.

Most of the wars have been done with walnut-wood stocks.

Sure now that syn. stocks and SS metal is the rage I have them.

Still the best looking gun gets the most attention.

While I have a nice Colt Woodsman Bullseye Match Target that one is not mine. It's a photo I found. Indeed that Colt with the Elephant Ear Grips is one of the most handsome guns ever made.

The Woodsman I use the most is my pre-Woodman Target with it's 6.5" bbl.

Here is my current favorite. A custom Mauser 30-06 with a fine stock and an octagon barrel. I use this rifle most frequently.

I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I find myself walking around looking at all of the beutifull guns at a match and I look over and there are six guys looking at my stuff!!

Just like fishing. We have people from all over come over and fish walley in front of our cabin. WE travel 10 miles to fish...... Go figure!!!
