looking to start F-Class shooting in south/central Texas...need help

Hello all -

I just got a taste of 1000 yd. shooting at Best of the West range in Liberty Hill TX and I think I am hooked already. I am very interested in shooting F-Class someday, but I could not find any clubs/leagues/etc... to get involved in it here in the general south/central TX area. I was hoping someone at BOTW could have hooked me up, or gave me some leads, but the range master that day did not know what F-Class was!

Is there anyone here that can give me some info on the best way to get involved in F-Class here in TX? I have heard that Houston might have something, but wanted to post here for some possible leads. I am specifically looking for F-T/R instead of the open class.

Thanks for any help anyone could provide!

CTSA located outside New Braunfels, TX on HW46 has a 500 yard match each month. It's only an "approved match", which is run a bit different due to range limitations, but gives you a basic idea. This is not for the serious F Class shooter who wants to shoot in registered NRA matches. I've shot F T/R there and have for the past 3 years and it's provided some great training for me. The winds there are wicked and humbling, but what better place to learn how to make wind calls.

The next match is on 5 May 2012. The match only consists of a 13 round format (10 for score). You can shoot two different relays. The match setup is at 8:00 am. I'm currently up in KS/MO area until next week. Shooting with some folks near St Louis this next weekend. If you want, email/Call/txt me and we can talk more about getting out to the range a few days prior to get you some trigger time.

Yes, Houston has something. We have two F-Class competitions every month; a 1000 yard match on the first Sunday and a 300 or 600 yard match on the third Sunday. These are NRA registered or approved matches, which consist of three strings of 20 rounds for record.
