21st. Century lathe for me. Very precise, fast and I actually have fun using it. I did these 202 6.5x47L cases in two sittings over the last two days. Nice of Lapua to give an extra case in each box. 3 1/2 hours to do them all. I do use a carbide turning mandrel because the thermal expansion of carbide is a fraction of the thermal expansion of stainless.

What is it about the PMA that makes it "the best by far"?

Ease and repeatability of adjustment. To be honest though I didn't say that they "were" the best by far. Only that out of the 4 different makes/models that I own that I "like" the PMA the best by far. If I could afford it I would like to try the 21st Century lathe.
