Looking for suggestions on Front Rest Feet

NoahbodyImportant

Silver $$ Contributor
I have the Caldwell Rock BR front rest with their standard adjustable feet (long screws with a pointed end)

I have seen pictures of other front rests with pointed round feet.

Where can I find those (what are they called so I can do a search) or does anybody have any plans on how to make them myself?

If anybody can post their pictures it would be greatly appreciated.

It is what I am looking for. However, now I need to find some long threaded bolts to attach to my rest and those feet.

I bought some threaded M10 rod and made my own legs for my caldwell when I had it. You can get about everything you need from McMaster.

My son uses that rest and I made a 3/4 plywood triangle base with 3-2" carriage bolts that stick in the ground and just set the front rest on it.

If you don't need points on the feet look here: http://benchrest.com/class/index.php?a=2&b=3358
Steve is a good guy to do business with. Perhaps he would even make you some with points. The price is reasonable.

Like another poster mentioned carriage bolts. I don't see the point in the expensive cone shaped ones. I just took some long carriage bolts and cut one end off and sharpened the other end to a pencil point. Next I added two nuts and a wide washer on each "leg" to act as a dirt stop; make sure you watch the NRA rules- I think there was a limit on the depth of your spikes.

On the tops of the legs I put the plastic hand knobs just like on the Caldwell windage and adjustments. Long legs allow you to adjust for a variety of uphill and downhill shots; giving you more flexibility on different terrain/ranges.
