Looking for stainless 20 cal barrel

I have a couple of X- Caliber barrels and from the get go shot very well and that was with no break in . NO copper fouling either. A lot of companies have 20 cal. barrels , but probably not on the shelf .I also have Lilja’s ( great !) .

Very happy with my Shilen Select in 1-10. I also have a McGowen in 1-11 that is a shooter, but I have heard I am lucky on that one.

Chad. its time for you to step up and buy a Bat SV Action. The 20 PPC Lilja on classifieds would be your ticket!

Hey Moorepower, you are not lucky with your 1-11 McGowen, I have 3 of the 1-11 McGowen barrels and all are shooters. Bad talk without documentation is annoying. Be and stay happy with the McGowen 1-11 (4 L-G, perfectly lapped, beautiful mirror like insides, loves 40 gr VMax) all and everything a varmint hunter needs.

if the varmints are further out than a quarter mile something else might be used - I have McGowen barrels in .22, 6mm, & 6.5

No plans to dispose of!

You have heard wrong. I have several McGowen with absolutely zero complaints. I have a 338 Edge barrel which out-shot guns much more expensive in a 2000yd match.

I have a PacNor, Krueger, and Lilja. All shoot lights out. All listed barrels above are great barrel companies as well. Scott

I’m looking for a stainless 20 cal barrrel for a build. Remington 700
Hi Chad tell us about what cartridge you are going to have this barrel chambered in.I like all the responses so far,I probably own just about ever custom barrel made in some form or another.I can say that my old school McGowen in 6mm 12 twist is responsible for the best 5 shot group I ever shot outdoors .065"I look forward to trying one from the Montana facility.
One thing to also consider when choosing a barrel maker is to pick one with good customer service after the sale, issues can arise after a good smith has chambered your barrel. Its nice to know your barrel maker is willing to work with you and your smith. Not gonna smear anyone here, but some barrel makers will not ,do some home work and have fun.
Matt

3 for 3 from the montana plant that are great shooters. Zero copper, few patches and clean. I had one issue with mcgowen on a o/s chamber and they shipped me a new one asap
