Looking for someone to turn a large shank savage barrel to install into a standard shank action.

Title says it all, I have a small shank action but a couple of large shank barrels laying around that I would like to use.

I have seen threads on the forum where this has been done before but they were a few years old. Anyone that can do it or have a contact that can do it just shoot me a PM.

Do you really want to put that much into factory barrels when you can get a new premium from @urbanrifleman for about the same price?

What do his barrels run lol? There were several threads (albeit 2-5 years old) that had guys doing it for under 50$ each which would be considerably cheaper than new barrels.

Still, if nothing like that comes up here in 2022, I'll be selling a couple large shanks here and buying a couple new small shanks.

Most would set it up like a chamber job and charge you accordingly. No way id ever get so little to do that id set up a factory barrel and chase threads for $50

I’d suspect like dusty you would come out a lot better to buy a barrel from urban.

I did browse the urbanrifleman website a bit but didn't reallt see anything over 6mm, maybe I'm looking in the wrong spot but the two I have that I'd like to use are a 270wsm and a 300 win mag.

There's a reason Savage uses large shank barrels on the WSMs, RUMs, and SAUMs.
I've not seen a .300 WM in large shank before.
