Looking for someone to drill and tap for scope base

Hey guys thanks for all the help on this gunsmithing thread. I’ve got my Mauser sent off and being worked on.

However I have another project. I need my 7.62x39 carcano drilled and tapped through the receiver for a savage 110 scope base, I have the taps and everything, just need someone to help me out?

Or would I be best trying this at home on a drill press?

I can ship as well, I’m in the SW VA area.

If you care about your receiver don't tap it yourself. That's my 2 cents. I'm sure someone will chime in to take care of it for you. Should run about $20-$30 per hole last I checked.

Yep that’s what I was expecting the cost to be as well. I only need one base done so I’d say 40-60 bucks for the total would be extremely fair.

I used epoxy to mount a red dot on a M12 I didn't want to drill and tap. It is still fine after several hundred rounds. You might try that to begin with.

I've installed over 200 of the Rock Solid pic rails on Mosin-Nagants with similar split rear bridge design and I suspect it would work on the Carcano- but you'd need a bent bolt modification to use it (natch).

I’ve considered it, however this rifle had epoxied on sights but they flew off on the original owner. That’s why I wanna drill and tap.

Bolt bending isn’t something I’m familiar with. I’ve also seen weaver side mounts used too.
