LOOKING FOR SOME HELP

Trying to get some info on a special gun that belongs to my brother in law. He is a retired Special Agent In Charge with the US Customs service. Back in the 80’s Colt produced a very limited number of 1911 45acp’s that came numbered with badge no’s and a badge in a custom wood box. He has 2 both unfired and un touched. He is looking to get an ides of the value for possible sale.

Does he have an provenance from the agency to go with them?

I'd consign them to an auction house personally, especially if he has provenance.
