Looking For Savage Ejector Spring at Ace

I think I see where this is headed. Try this: sit down at your work bench as you normally would, hold the rifle's bolt like you would while removing the ejector and look to see which end of the shop the bolt is pointed at. Then, go to the opposite end of the shop and look under the biggest, heaviest thing you have over there. That's where your old spring is :)

Someone told me to do this, never have, but would like to know for sure if it works.
I've done this to decrease spring strength. good if you want very low spring strength. Ymmv

I'm thinking of just making a brass or stainless plug for one and see how I like that.

Found a replacement for a Savage ejector detente ball. Had one bounce off the ceiling and went to the place all lost things go to. I thought I had something similar. An old Schwinn bicycle front bearing balls are exactly the same size and probably a better quality.

I did this....twice. It is still out there.

Have you called Savage Customer service? I purchased a bunch of small bolt head parts recently to keep in my parts bin. Never know when you're going to need one. Those dang springs were probably made by Space X Corp.
