Max said:I've just purchased a 1:12 twist Shilen Select Match barrel for my Savage LRPV and started load development using 8208 and H322. So far it looks like 22.3 grains of 8208 will be my go-to load. I've had no difficulty getting three shot groups in the very low "twos" and high "ones". I've varied the COAL from 2.865 to 2.885 but 2.875 looks the best. I'm using neck turned Lapua brass giving me a neck clearance of .0025", and CCI BR4 primers. The bullets are 53gr SMK's. I would like to use 55gr. Bergers, but they don't give me equal groups until I use 23.2 gr of 8208 which is maximum. When using H322, the best load so far is 20.9 gr. which gives me groups in the very low "twos". Hope this helps.
