Looking for load info on 62gr hornaday hpbt...

Ended up with few thousand of these and trying to figure out a load for me 16 inch ar with a 1x7 twist and its being a lot more of a challenge than I thought.
I almost believe I am fighting a lost battle and might just run these through my sbr along with 55gr bullets.
I'm trying to use my h355 and cci small rifle primers and looking to go out to hopefully 500 yds which is max for the range I belong to so any help of load data will be highly appreciated.
Thanks

I use 25.5 grains (a thrown charge ) of, WW-748 Ball powder, F205 primers, Magazine length (2.550 ) I use this load with,.. 60 grain Nosler Bal tip's and 65 Gr Sierra Game kings ( same powder chg., both bullets ! ) This load (w/ both Bullets), shoots SUB MOA @100 out of, my 16 inch, 1-7, Adams Arms, piston gun with, a Gieselle Trigger. Right at 2,800 FPS. Sierra lists this powder in their online .223/ 5.56 load Data BUT,.."work up" CAREFULLY,.. as usual ! My gun has, the 5.56 Chamber.
The Bal tip's shoot 1/2 inch left and the GK's print 1/2 inch to the right of center,.. SAME elevation level, at 100 ! Easy Peasy to adjust,.. just a couple of clicks on scope and I go from my GS load, to the Coyote/ Deer load with, the GK's ! Hope this, helps !
PS; If you have, the 62 FMJ's,.. they suck for accuracy,.. THREW mine, away !

I'm starting to believe they suck like you say and go to a sierra 77 gr hpbt and be through with it.
Shoot them through my 7.5 sbr and not care about 100yds.
Mine is a ballistic advantage premium with a .556 chamber as well.

Although I'm not a fan of Hornady rifle bullets, the 60 Vmax is shooting under 1/2 moa in my Tikka 223 8" twist rifle using H4895.

I talked to the Hornady Tech's about, the 75 ELD-M (for use in, a .22-250 Ackley Imp.) and found out that, the 73 grain ELD-M was MADE FOR, the AR's ( shorter OAL and slightly lighter, bullet) you might give them a try ! The Horn 75 hpbt shot great, in my son's 1-8 tw AR,.. to 750 Yards ! Sierra 69's also worked good for him. Good luck !

Funny you brought this up, I actually just watched this video last night that deals with the 62 BTHPs. If you don't have any luck with H335 maybe try one of these two powders?

I am showing great initial results with the Hornady 62gr BTHP from midsouth, using in combination with IMR 8208 XBR, LC cases, FED AR match primers (CCI 41 loaded up and need to be shot). 5 round shot groups for the following tests, just shy of 100 yards. From my 18" PSA nitride barrel, .8 MOA using 24gr of XBR @ 2768fps (SD 23.7, ES 65). From two different 20" core series criterion barrels, gun #1 grouped well at .6 MOA using 24.3gr XBR @ 2871fps (SD 15.2, ES 44), and gun number 2 grouped .65 MOA using 24.6gr XBR @ 2930fps (SD 8.8, ES 20). All rounds were loaded to the same COAL @ 2.25". Powder range tested was 24 to 25.2grs of XBR, at .3gr increments. Crimping at 24grs grouped larger (1 inch), but increased velocity by ~30fps. SD went from 23.7 to 13.3 using a crimp, so I suspect light crimping with more powder will prove beneficial.

Powder measured with an RCBS chargemaster lite, velocity readings taken with labradar. All three 223 wylde ar15 rifles are wearing different optics, sorry no commonality there. Cases are sized using a redding small base die to ensure chambering is not an issue in three + rifles I use.

I, too, purchased some of these 62 Hornady HPBT bullets from Midsouth. I've been curious about load data also. I've heard some promising results with them... I'll be loading for an AR, & possibly my Remington 700 5R 223.

I am another that got some .224 HPBT's from Mid South. I shoot these from a 16 inch Sig Sauer Tread using 25.5 grains of H CFE 223 and CCI 41 primers. I have not found any info on these bullets in the Hornady load manual. Hornady loads these 62's in some of their ammo. These bullets give me the best accuracy out of my AR and there is no plastic point to get bashed up. I have plans to try the 62's in a .223 bolt gun with IMR 8208 - inexpensive bullet at about $30 per 250 not including shipping.

I also use a Redding small base die, RCBS F/L die and a light crimp using a Lee crimp die. No feeding problems ever and accuracy about 1 inch (plus) @ 100.

These 62 HPBT bullets might be described in this attachment:

The Hornady 62 HPBT which used to be (or perhaps still is) a Midsouth exclusive is one of the best kept secrets out there.

My experiences with H335 echo some of those above. I do not like it and have never had the best accuracy with it regardless of what bullet, firearm, or cartridge I've tried it in.

Benchmark has proven to be the best I've tried with the 62 HPBT and it is absolutely a winning combination in both a 1:9 I have and a 1:7.

This bullet has also shot quite well with CFE223 and LeverEvolution, but best accuracy was with Benchmark and it is my go-to budget load for faster twist 223.

Go-to budget loads for the 1:12s are Speer 50 TNT with H322 and 53 Vmax with CFE223.

Go on line to hornady load data they list data that is not in book for 62 grain in 223 and have 224 valkyrie data also

I shoot a lot of 62 grain hornadys and nosler varmageton Hpfb. 8208 xbr is the best in my 20” bergara Barrel ar 15. Start at 24grains and work up to find your sweet spot load.

I have been loading the 62 SS109 FMJBT in Nosler brass with 22.6 H4895 and CCI450 (small rifle magnum primers) - this load is a on the slow side, but its quite accurate out to 300 yards when shot from my Ruger 556.
