Looking for Friends Lancaster, PA

Hey Guys,

I live in Lancaster PA, been into guns for a couple years, started reloading this year and have just gone bonkers with it. I was in physician assistant school for the last two years but just recently graduated. Now that I got that monkey off my back, I’m looking to get much deeper into the hobby. I’m a member at Miflin County Sportsman Association, the one with a 1000yd range, can’t wait to get out there more often with my free time.

Would love to make some local friends to learn from and buy/sale/trade with.

Shoot me a message if you are in the area!!!

Take Care Everyone,

D

Depending on location, Lancaster is about 1 hour and 45 mins. from MCSA.
There are many gun clubs in your area, do you belong to a local gun club?
Casual plinker? Hunter? Competitive shooter?
Rifle? Pistol? Shotgun?
Going to events at gun clubs is a great way to meet people with the same interests.

Congrats on your graduation! Now go have some fun, as I would imagine you need a mental break.

I work in the Lancaster area. I live south of there about a half hour in Kirkwood. I’m a member of SLCFSA range about 20min south of Lancaster. A nice clean range that goes out to 300yds.
I have also been to MCSA a few times. Actually rented the whole range for a day to host a shoot about 15 years ago. It was a blast()!

They get wild sometimes. One just veered into the other lane and sideswiped my son a few months ago. Gouged the entire one side of his grand Cherokee. I have to say though it was the easiest damage claim I’ve ever been thru! Didn’t even call my insurance. They paid the body shop the $8500 directly, and also paid for him to have a rental. Think they were scared of dealing with insurance companies. Don’t really blame them.

It's my understanding them folks don't even have health insurance. They supposedly pay cash for everything.

Come to a groundhog match at mifflin county. Lots of good people, you can shoot an AR, factory gun, light custom (under 17lbs) or heavy custom (no weight restriction) in the match. Pretty good group of guys and a relaxed environment.

Thank you for the warm welcome, 300yds is pretty decent! Long enough to scratch my itch at least, ill have to look into that club!

Edit: Just looked up the location, 30min from my home and right next to Groff and Groff Lumber Yard, wood working is my other passion and I'm always there, looks like this club would be a great fit for me! thanks for the suggestion

I haven't heard of this yet, ill have to check that out!

I’m thinking about joining Mifflin. Started going to their groundhog shoots.
I used to be a member at Middletown which has a nice club and clubhouse.
It's super easy to join, just fill out a paper and mail a check in. They work quickly too, been a member two years and the turn around time to get your card has always been impressive considering that its through the mail

What Middletown? I was a member for a few years yet let it lapse. Their clubhouse is really nice, I went there a lot when I lived in Harrisburg.
