looking for expert on canjar trigger for win 52d

Any experts on canjar trigger out there ? I bought a canjar trigger for my 52d winchester ( yes I know they are out of business ) I do most of my own gunsmithing but I am not a "gunsmith"
. The friend I bought it from said he could not get it to function on hid 52d , I have had it apart many times and know how it should function ,but does not . I don't know if missing a part or if some one substituted a spring or two. I need some one who has actually worked on or repaired this trigger ( past employee of canjar maybe? ) Also sent pics of trigger to seewin ( winchester 52 expert and he verified it is correct trigger for 52d )

I have only worked with the Canjar LP 700 (which I still use) which would be different than your trigger.

The only thing I can think of is this video of a Canjar in a 52C. the video has a pic of the trigger disassembled. I did not watch the whole thing.

dhagerty40 , yes I have seen the video on the canjar 52c. The gunsmith had to do quite a bit of modifications to make it work ( some gas welding and re tempering of some of the internal parts ). I am not ready to do that until I get more info Thanks a lot for you response

Not exactly, Primary sear does not want to reset & limited amount of travel/movement of primary sear. I am beginning to think spring under sear is incorrect, and it is very small ( short ) I have been searching for a replacement and ordered some from a spring company but none are a match yet , Thanks for your reply

Have you tried to see if a disposal cigarette lighter's spring might work? I have used these for Marlin triggers in the past. I assume it needs to be a compression spring.

I was getting ready to say same thing. Cigarette lighter spring is pretty long so it could be cut to proper length as long as the diameter is not too big

The mini-Bic lighters were pretty small in diameter. also, Anschutz Match 54 extractor springs may work.

Canjar made 2 different triggers which fit the 52c, d and 52 Internationals (their description, not mine). The 52C when used as a single stage, would adjust from 1-4 lb. Using the set version, 1-2 oz. Later, they made a 52C-LP (light pull) adjustable 2-12 oz. It is similar in operation to the 700-LP, both having an aluminum wire for a finger piece. Matt said using a heavier steel finger piece would not allow you to get it down as low. Which trigger do you have?

canjar marked 52-2 , not wire trigger . If this model only goes down to 1 pound it will be useless to me as I have my factory trigger down to 1 pound already. Thanks for you response

This is actually a 52-3 trigger, the "Improved" version with the 1 pc. narrow (3/16" wide) finger piece, more often seen in sporters rather than target rifles. Either Canjar or a user changed it out. The -2 was the deluxe trigger, which had a shoe which could be changed to a set shoe which then made it the -1 model. Only the -1 set version of this trigger was capable of low ounces as it came from Canjar.

Thanks for the info sbs, anyone out there want to buy a canjar trigger for a winchester 52 c,d,or e
Might want to get a trigger job done on the factory trigger. With repositioning the trigger pin to increase leverage and honing the inside of the trigger housing along with new springs, the factory trigger is capable of approx. 4 oz., depending upon the individual trigger & rifle.

Yes that is probably what I will do, I have a diagram on where to drill for repositioning trigger pin. A friend I have talked to in waco texas was doing this conversion back in the 90's he has just turned 86 and i talked to him yesterday . A real gentleman and he still is shooting. I wont use his full name it is Bill R---- Those of you in Texas will probably know him. Thanks for everyone's help

Bill does a good job on factory trigger. I believe I remember him saying he can get the latter version down a little more the the earlier version triggers. Send me p/m with your $ on the canjar
