Looking for drop chart info

I'm starting to spin turrets on all my varmint rigs and I'm wondering what you guys use for charts and what/how do you attach them? I contacted member XTERMINATOR but he no longer has the time to make them. Sucks because I think it was a quality product.

Any help would be appreciated.

I put the bullet wt., BC and muzzle velocity into Berger's online ballistics program. Then I manually enter the data into an Excel spreadsheet and manually calculate the scope clicks for drop and windage. You can laminate it. I just fold the paper up and lay it on the ground by my binocs, laser and bullet box. I carry what I need in a backpack into the field. I don't tape the info to my rifle since I don't walk around when GH hunting. I pick a good location and sit there for about an hour before I move.

I past an adhesive label inside the front (objective) scope cover so it's facing me when I flip the cover open. I have click adjustments listed for every 25 yards from a zero at 200 yards to 350 yards (where I hunt does not afford longer shots and in fact most are under 300 yards.)

Chart are fine for estimating but nothing beats actually shooting at those distance on paper to verify the settings.

Also doing a precision check of the scope's click adjustments has value. This can be done at 100 yards, clicking up a specified amount then shooting to see how precise the adjustment was; then returning to the original setting and shooting to verify return to zero. I normally check three points over the range I anticipate shooting plus one return to zero, e.g. click settings for 250, 275, 300 yards and return to zero.

Thanks guys. I plan on shooting at distance to find the actual bullet drop at distances out to 500-600 yards. I build custom portable shooting benches so I know I'll have a stable rest.

I have thought about putting a drop chart in my objective cover and have also thought about the Lupy retractable drop chart that mounts to the scope tube.

Let me know if you guys have any other ideas.

I like to tape a lil plastic note with all the drop info to the cheek piece on my rifle,,,,just a glance at it and you see the numbers,,,,,sittin -standin -layin ,,,there it is rite on the gun,,,Roger

I use JBM ballistics to start, then confirm with live fire.

I make an abbreviated range card and either attach it to my stock with clear tape or I laminate it and hang it from my front scope mount.

The white card to the left of my rifle is my range card. I set the card up backwards using turret settings instead of yardage. So for every .5 MOA of scope adjustment it tells me the POI yardage. I do it this way because the settings change fairly rapidly when you get beyond 600 yards.

I use the JBM online one, then I take the guns to the range and shoot 100-700 yards, make my notes from actual shooting then make my exact drop chart/dialup & tape it to my stock or top od the bell on my scopes.

i'v used the hornady ballistic calculator for years and now they have an advanced calculator taking into account more variables. the printout gives moa of elevation over a 100 yd zero. i do the math and make a table such that every click(1/4 min or 1/8min) of elevation gives a yardage range. in the field i range a ghog and read over to the clicks of elevation needed to reach that range. i am amazed how accurate this has been..longest to date ...532 yds. i really enjoy putting the dot on a target and seeing the bullet go to that spot.

Thanks again fellas. I like the idea of making a laminated chart, just don't like the idea of having it taped to the side of my gun.

Then tape or attach it to your laser - it will always be there.

I've been OK - business is slow because of the shortage of components. I have orders up the wazoo, but cases, powder, bullets and primers are all in short supply.

So I have 200 pounds of one caliber of case, but no powder - and 200 pounds of powder, but it's not what I have bullets for... you know how it is. :( :( :(

Yeah unfortunately I do. Seems to be getting a little better though.

I use Brian Litz's Shooter S/W on my IPhone. Links with local station for atmospheric conditions, has a wind dial so you can fix the wind direction, angle finder, and others. Just got to make sure your phone is charged! ;D

don't like tape on my stock either, so i put the chart in a plastic sleeve and secure with two rubber bands. if i shoot a different bullet with different data i slip the prior chart out and insert the new one. make these charts on a 2 in by 10 in piece of graph paper.
