Looking for data on Hornady 170 Sub X.308 subs, any one have some to share?

I am helping a buddy work up a load for 1-10 twist Bergara .308 with some 170 sub Xs, I have data for the 190s, but his rifle hates them, too heavy I assume. Anyone have any data to share that shoots good out of a 10 twist, or know of any website that lists it, all help appreciated.

I contacted Hornady tech dept with a email for the C.O.L. for 190 subs and they told me for the 190 to follow the discontinued 190 load info because I can't get any subsonic powder so just going to shoot beginning loads starting at 2000 fps.
I know it's not a light sub but it is way easier to shoot than the higher fps loads

Not true, it's a shotgun handgun powder.

Did you read Alliants web site? Its been a shotgun/handgun powder longer than the 50 years I've been reloading.

I would not use the data you have posted.

Doesn't your reloading books or a web site, i.e. Hornady Reloading data show some start loads for you to work up with ?

Ok so I got in depth with the Hodgdon technical info.
In the loading data
Besides the unobtanium powders they also show Benchmark with subsonic loads loadings for .308.
They also list Tite group .
These were in a 308 rifle with 1:12 twist with fed match and also WLR primers.
Please do your own search to verify this.
I believe both those powders are currently ( today at least....) in stock around the country.
Again those bits of data came from my computer on Hodgdon load data on their website.
I know you asked about 170 GR bullets but I think you may also find other options.

Yes, I have read their website. I have also been reloading for 50+ years, and more than that I do research. It is still the same powder it has always been. That data is as valid now as it has always been. Have you ever consulted Lyman’s cast bullet handbooks? In any case, the 10 gr. of Unique with the 175 sub-x is safe.

I have Lyman's book but have only used cast bullets in a revolver and never a rifle. I also have the NRA Reloading Book.

Well, we aren’t talking about cast lead bullets in a rifle, although we could. 10 grs. of Unique under a 175 gr. bullet will attain about 1400 fps. 8.5 gr. will get about 1050 fps, i.e. subsonic. It will not stick in the barrel.

Bullseye, which is the same as Unique with a different granulation, can also be used for light practice loads.

Other good powders for this application are Red Dot, 2400 and others of similar burn rate. Do not use Dacron fillers with these loads.

I've been working on a 190 Sub X load with the same twist barrel, 170's should be here tomorrow. Found anything useful? I can share what I have so far if you want it.
