Looking for advice on an epoxy for gluing recoil pad

Looking for an epoxy to glue a Decelerator pad to a McMillan F-Class stock. Never done this so any advice on glueing and grinding would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I just use the Loctite brand in the 30 or 45 minute set up time. I get it a Wal-mart. It comes in a dual tube and squeeze out equal amounts and stir it up. I would put some tape on the outside of the stock and the recoil pad and leave about 1/8th inch exposed, so sanding or grinding will be a lot easier. Just make sure you rough up the bottom of the recoil pad and the back of the stock with some sand paper.

Thanks Tarey! I do have some Loctite brand epoxy that i had forgot about. It's 5 min though, so might have to work fast! Maybe I should go get some longer open time epoxy.

Just out of curiosity, why not screw the pad on so you can remove it easily if you ever need to?

It's not out of the question yet, that's for sure. However I have never done one of these stocks and when I cut the back off it exposed some yellow foam and I now have questions to the integrity of what's behind it? More foam? More of the white filler? Not sure. Was thing of bedding in some screw inserts.

I have a stock with a similar situation with the foam. I marked and drilled the foam about 1/2" diameter by about 2" deep. Mixed enough JB weld to fill the holes to overflow. Let it cure for 24 hours and squared and sanded everything flat and smooth. Placed the buttpad in the proper position and marked the holes. Drilled the correct sized holes for the screws and tightened them. The machine screws will cut the threads in the cured JB weld. I've taken the buttpad off and on several times with no problems
