Looking for advice on a mid priced (under $1K) spotting scope

Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a spotting scope for scoring at F-TR matches up to 1k yards. I know little about them so I'm looking for advice on a mid priced (under $1K) spotting scope that would work well.

Get yourself a Kowa 821M or TSN 82SV with 27x long eye relief eyepiece. There is a reason they make up 2/3rds of the spotting scopes you see on the line at any high power or F-Class match.

jdne5b beat me to it. Creedmoor had a special on them a couple of weeks ago. You might be able to convince them to give it to you for that price. If you don't already have one, you'll need a stand as well. Creedmoor sells the best stand available, the Ray-Vin F-Stand. If you get it with the outrigger and pick up a scope head from Eliseo, you will be in great shape.

Kowa TSN-661 with a 30 Wide eyepiece. You're not giving up anything to the larger Kowa other than size/weight and a few extra dollars in your pocket

The Celestron offering that Creedmoor Sports sells looked very, very good to me at 1000 yards. Looked through two different ones at a match and both had great color, contrast and resolution.

OK guys, I appreciate all your help, couldn't have done without you. Creedmoor was out of stock and they wouldn't honor the sale price that ended last week. So I just bought it the Kowa TSN-82SV and the TSE-17HD 25x Long Eye Relief Spotting Scope Eyepiece from B&H with free shipping.

I'll get a hard case for it from Harbor Freight later. Seems silly paying $130 for a soft Kowa case.
