Looking for a long range scope

I recommend the Nightforce NXS, in the reticle of your choice. I DO NOT recommend a benchrest model, as they typically have the parallax adjustment on the front bell, not at the side of the turrets, and you will be changing distance a lot when hunting predators.
Check the scopes for sale, the Nightforce come up a lot. Here is one. http://forum.accurateshooter.com/threads/nf-12-42-nxs-np2dd.3972170/

I would also recommend a higher ballistic coefficient bullet if you are shooting to 600 yards. The 88gr Berger Varmint works well in a 6BR, so it should work well or better in your 243. It's a longer VLD style bullet, so if you have a repeater you may have to watch the length.

Your round description looks like you are using factory ammo. Your choice has a BC of .250, but if you switch to the 87gr version, the BC is .400, which will work better at longer ranges.

You should also get a rangefinder or rangefinder binocs, and a ballistics software program to give you the clicks on those longer shots.

I have both NXS 5.5-22x50 and the SHV 5-20. I think the actual glass is better with the NXS, and if you can get one for at the price at the link in Powderbrake's post, it's one heck of a deal. I love my NXS, but the SHV ain't bad at all.

The NXS is a second focal plane scope, which I prefer for varmint shooting. The 4-14 power SHV, I believe, can be had in both SFP and FFP. The 5-20 is SFP.

I prefer SFP myself but there are lots of people who love FFP.

Instead of arbitrarily accepting recommendations, you should first strongly consider the different options which can assist the manner in which you shoot to assure the scope has the components you need. For the longer shots, do you have time to dial the turrets for the elevation and wind or will you sometimes use the reticle. If using the reticle, then look at the various designs (dots, Xmas tree, etc), moa of mil, etc. Be sure the reticle and turret graduations are the same. Along the same vein for timely use of the reticle, a FFP is an asset to assure it is always in calibration. Do you shoot in low light, may need an illuminated reticle. While 15X should suit your description, the situation may change where a little more mag would help.

For what its worth I frequently shot coyote steel targets at 600 and 700yd using a Sightron SIII 6-24 FFP mil-hash scope on 15X. Usually I dial for elevation and hold off using the reticle for wind because I'm too slow finding the correct Xmas tree line for elevation and then moving across it for windage ( old eyes are slow ). But you should contemplate how you want to shoot to be sure you make the correct choice the first time, and ask for recommendations based on your specs vs other's choices. I bought and sold a number of scopes before I learned that.
