Looking for a gunsmith in Washington or Oregon

I'm looking for a top-notch gunsmith to build f-class rifles for me. I really, really hate shipping guns around so, I'd like to have someone I can work with face to face.

If I have to ship, I already have several good smiths identified.

Thanks
Keith

Keith,

Both States are pretty big, I live on the state line in the south east tip of the state of Washington where Oregon and Idaho all meet, I have a couple good smiths in Idaho near Lewiston Idaho.

Call Rick Graham he should have a name for you: http://www.brflags.com/contact.html

Brett Evans at NW Armswerks is pretty good. He's pretty far south of you in Bonney Lake though. He also can get pretty busy, but he does do good work. He's also the one who got me started on the Barnard action, he's a big fan.

John Taylor of John Taylor Machine in Puyallup, WA has a good rep. He has built two rifles for me and is currently working on a third. He is well known in the single-shot rifle community and has a 6-month, or more, backlog.

I've used two of the Smiths mentioned above. Brett Evans and Steve Kostanich. Both are excellent.
Last year, Brett moved his shop from Bonney Lake to South Hill (close to Graham).
Like stated above, Rick Graham will get you in contact with some.

Hello, I’m new to the forum. I will be moving to the Seattle area of Washington shortly, and I too am in search of a top-notch gunsmith strictly for chambering barrels. I apologize for reviving this thread, but I did a search on here and this was the only thread to pop up. Does anyone have any trusted/proven suggestions here in 2022?

Thank you.
Brandon

Look up Darrell Holland in Powers, Oregon. He is an outstanding rifle builder. He has done about 5 or 6 rifles for me and they are all top notch and very accurate. Great guy to talk to also.
But better hurry. Darrell is in the process of relocating his operation(gun smithing, shooting school, etc) to the Billings, MT area.

Steve Kostanich in Chehalis WA does great work. I won't post his contact # on here without permission. PM me once you move and I'll link you up.

Gavin Gear from Ultimate Reloader has just opened a shop in Cashmere, WA
Greg Swezey at Gold Creek Rifles in Carlton, WA you'll need patience, he's busy.

Darrell Holland, Master Rifle Builder bar none.
Every rifle he's built for me has been wicked accurate, superlative machine work and a great guy to know and work with. Highly recommend Darrell and his work.

As mentioned, he's moving his operation to MT, so get with him now, it'll be worth any additional wait.
