Looking for a CNC operator in New Zealand

Hi,
We are a small company manufacturing suppressors and muzzle brakes based in the North Island of New Zealand.
As our business is expending,We are looking for a CNC operator with CAM/CAD experience.
We are looking for someone with a good interest in firearms in general, if possible under 30 years old and not afraid of leaving Home for a while.
Our website is: www.dpt.co.nz
Our contact is: sales@dpt.co.nz

I will provide more details about the job itself in the next few days.
This add is opened mainly to candidates from USA,Canada,Australia,UK and eventually from Scandinavia ,Switzerland and Germany but your English would have to be extremely good as we do not have time to waste in translations.

New Zealand is a small country of 4 millions people.
It has a lot to offer to the serious outdoorsman: deer hunting all year around, some fantastic landscape for hiking , very good river and sea fishing.

Nicolas

Wow, if I was single I would consider it. Just out of curiosity, what CAD/CAM software do you use over there in New Zealand?

Erick Crouthamel

Say D-mon, I think there is a Yank already there in the Wellington area that may fit your description? He's over 30 though. He is affiliated with the shooting club there. Mitchel Maxberry. I would have to hustle to find a contact for him, but he is very gun savey.

Thanks, Yes we know Mitch Maxberry, but he is doing is own thing. Didn't realize he was clue-up in CNC's...

The age thing, 30 is more to do with it being easier to get your work holiday Visa in a timely manner.
We are happy to look at someone older but it will take a lot longer to get here.

Thanks
Darren

Solidworks, the cam software will depend on the person we take on.

Probably going to have to start at least 50% more. The person you are looking for is in very high demand. Machine tool salesmen would sell twice as many machines if they came with a guy like you want to stand in front of them, just sayin'. ;)

I never seem to see any kids under 30 that want to work

May be true Dusty but in my machine shop class I had quite a few "kids" under 30, Afghan war vets, that loved working hard, and wanted extra project assignments. :)

Mr. M, I agree. California is SCREAMING for machine tool tradesmen. I'm not up on the IRS regs but there may be an advantage on U.S. income taxes that would make up for some of that 50%.

If I were a younger man. I took a vacation there last Feb.. Beautiful country. Nice people, and yes: they have a LOT of pretty girls. Housing is pretty expensive, taxes are high. A young, single man could do well there.

Ancient thread.......but gee whizz, high taxes and expensive housing does not equate with a "good opportunity".
I'm curious how this played out. Especially now w their "buy back" and semi autos being banned. But wait, there's more:
You can call and rcv counseling if the new draconian laws are upsetting. How thoughty of the blighters. :/ To hell in a hand basket, full tilt.
