1) Are you SURE your chamber is small enough to need a small base sizer? AR chambers usually are not.

2) The benefits of a Wilson seater are probably lost on an AR. Speaking as somebody who has had full custom Jones dies for same. A Forster BR, or similar design, will absolutely get you to 1/4 Minute if the AR can.

1. I don't know. It's my first time reloading for AR. I did play around with a regular die for an AR 10 and it would not chamber, so I sized using an SB die, and it cha.mbered. And furthermore, I read on reputable sites that SB die Will ensure proper cycling of AR rifle. So, my decision is based on what I just said and do appreciate your reply.

2) One of the reasons that I like the Wilson inline, it is less cumbersome to take to the range with a small arbor press. I also realize that the neck tension for an AR round may be too much for an arbor press. But I could be wrong here as well.

1) Ok, then don't. It's a rigid little case, and the back end will generally not cause you issues, provided you FL size in a good die, making sure to get a net "bump" of the shoulder of 0.003", not to exceed 0.005".

This IS the reputable site you should listen to. I'm on all the rest, too.

2) Nah, it's fine to use one, if you like it. Makes good sense, for your range transport.

I use 0.002-0.003" tension with no crimp in magazine rounds, but a LIGHT Lee Collet crimp won't hurt. Enough to close up the chamfer, certainly won't. Some find the light crimp helps with ES/SD.

I have used down in the 0.0005-0.001" tension in the AR, and I don't think it's needed, unless you are seating long, and letting the bolt set jam. It's been done. For the time being, that's not for you.

The AR, unless converted to side charge single shot, is not kind to ultra-low tension rounds.

Make sure you get a VLD stem from Wilsons, if you're loading slicker bullets.

OP won't need a SBdie if not sharing ammo with another AR. Iearned the hard way about dedicated brass and the need for SB dies.
