LOOK WHAT I JUST GOT!

I just bought these from a long time friend who stopped shooting Benchrest quite a while back.

His specialty was 30 caliber bullets to use in HBR, but he also made a great 6mm bullet on these dies.

As you can see, they are a set of Rorschach Carbide Bullet Dies. These dies make the same bullet as the Watson and Fowler Bullets that many of shot for years, basically a 7 1/2 ogive straight shank bullet with a body diameter of .2430 to .2431.

He still had all of the original paper work when the dies were made.

I can’t wait to set them up. I have acquired (traded for), a case of J-4 .825 jackets and 5000 hood cores which will be here Monday.
I am now set up to make my 112 grn 30 caliber bullets, 103 grn 6mm boat tails, and now these.

Thems gonna make some good bullets. I still have a bunch of that style bullet from watson, fowler, knight and bart. My favorite bullet by far

I really need to try a custom bullet one of these days. Something in the high 60 to low 70gr 6mm variety.

No, I am still in the “salt mines” so to speak. Business is actually pretty good.

I'm 74 and qualified for "OLD FART" status when I turned 70.

While I still enjoy shooting and varmint hunting, I definitely have lost some eye / hand coordination and don't shoot anywhere near as good as I use to. But at my age, as long as I'm in the game I'm grateful. I've lost a lot of good fellow shooting buddies, so I try not to waste any days.

I told my Wife, who is retired, that we could make bullets to sell if she was willing to pull the handles.

I am making up my first batch of 500 on my new dies.

Everything is looking real good. The shank is coming out not quite a “tenth“ over .243 With a .0004 base.
