Longest shot of the 2023 groundhog season.

Taken yesterday , 290 yards lasered with the Halo, stiff crosswind 30 mph missed him twice he never made me the suppressed 17 hornet is amazing. Did some compensation calculations and hit him while holding 3 inches right hit his spine he never moved clean pass through the next one only showed a tiny portion of his head when I cut loose on him 261 yards re-arranged his mouth drt. Saw 3 got 2 way too windy i'm north of 100 so far but soon running out of time. The treeline is 300 yards where the first one was taken , crest of hill the one with the dental work,250 yards. The gh can be seen in the first picture ,follow the cut hay to the trees right he's about 10 feet out in the field.

And, great work for this time of year!

I am seeing a few moving here, getting to be end of the season. Deer season is right around the corner.

That's damn good with that little pill in those wind conditions.

It really is and kind of physics defying considering a 20gr Vmax at 17 Hornet velocity at 290yds with a 30MPH crosswind has around 40 inches of drift so if the OP only had to 3 inches right, now that is some impressive super sniper swat training right there.

Kind of what I was thinking! Supernatural physics application right there...

Seems like the OPs been around the block a couple times.......probably was dialing in windage on his first two misses and held off an additional 3 inches on his third shot.

Oh, I'm sure there's some kind of story in the works......

You can always tell when the amateurs step in, having never shot anything over 25 yards makes them skeptical and cynical. Nothing to prove here as my targets get hit. One such as yourself has it figured 100% THX.12 clicks moved my poi exactly 4 inches, so if the amateur boys know anything they'll see i'm pretty much on my mark 40 inches of drift what's he smoking?

300 yards with a Hornet based case is good shooting. Great sport groundhog hunting. I went more this year than I have for quite a few years.

For someone that claims to have all these years super sniper swat training and is the marksman you want everyone to believe you are I would certainly think you'd know a little more about ballistics. It's really not that difficult to figure out.

Using, your, information the 17 Hornet ammo w/20gr Vmax bullet has 39 inches of wind drift at 290 yards in a 30 mph crosswind.

Reading this stuff it's like story time with Paul Blart Mall Cop. Seriously, if you're going to tell another one of your "stories" at least try and make it believable.

ROFLMAO, where you get dat from,I forgot more in sniper training then you'll know in 10 lifetimes, you're a troll who follows me around on this site, Rimfire central,Longrange hunting and a few others ,glad I'm occupying your mind. You may learn something.Hey how's about matching me picture for picture with the following game species, coyote, fox, groundhogs, bear deer, turkey, plus a few more I'm sure you could teach me something about shot placement and ballistics.

Come on guys, give it a rest. We like the photos. We all enjoy a write up. No one gains anything over these arguments. In the end it is like both of you decided to piss into a headwind.
If you like stories of self proclaimed worth and heroism filled with BS and lies, well, he's your guy but I think it's insultive to the members and down right pathetic to come on these forums making up stories filled with lies for no other reason then to create a fake grandiose persona.

I understand, maybe for some, reading things like 290 yd shot in 30 MPH crosswind with 17 Hornet and only adjusting four inches may not jump out at you but I can promise you anyone that shoots distance with any amount of regularity will read that and their BS meter will instantly be pegged. Don't take my word for it, run the numbers yourself through a ballistics calculator for a 17 Hornet shooting factory 20gr Vmax ammo that has a BC of .185 and plug in 30 MPH crosswind and see what it says for wind drift at 290 yds and you'll quickly see why someone claiming they adjusted only 4 inches and made the kill shot is laughable.

I won't even get into the coyote pics that individual posts about shooting, always, with amazing pin point head shot accuracy but they all have obvious signs they've been snared, heck, some of the pics the snare is still on them and when called out he deletes the pic or has some crazy ridiculous BS story of dog leashes. Again, if that's the kind of thing you like to see and read about then you certainly have found the right person to follow.

There's a reason you call yourself BS, because your full of it, you're a troll and a stalker and ,and a few other things anytime you want to put your money where your mouth is i'm ready, you haven't a clue, now go troll someone else. What ballistics calculator the BS23 one?3.8 mils dead on .In an effort not to disrupt a great forum I shall no longer , if I can help it respond to a PUNK, as I deal with them on a daily basis and 25 years and counting does give one a low tolerance, but patience is a virtue my pictures will tell the story.

So I see you've switched to talking in mils now, maybe you think that makes you sounds more super sniper, anyway, would you like to tell everyone how many inches 3.8 mils is at 290 yds?

With your, per you, years of metro swat sniper training you probably know this without even thinking about it but I'll give you a hint, it's a hell of a lot more than "Did some compensation calculations and hit him while holding 3 inches right".

FWIW 3.8 MILS at 290yds is 39.7 inches so when someone says they "Did some compensation calculations and hit him while holding 3 inches right" it becomes pretty obvious it was just another story.
