Longer range groups for the 6x47L

These are not the final word but thought I would share anyway. Only had time to shoot a few shots before rained out, more to come.

Target 43 is a 3 shot group at 200 yds

Target 44 is two shots at 275 yds

And the load is Fed205m, 41.0 VVN 550,88gr Berger Flat base LD

This combo shoots .2's at 100 yds at 3400fps E.S 34 S.D. 9.5

Hi Stosh your groups are looking good I've just bought 550 too
try with 107 match kings & 108 Bergers in my 1-8 6x47L how many
grains do you think I should use

My best results have been with 35.7 grains of VV N550 and Sierra 107's. Velocity was just over 3000 fps from a Saturn 28 inch 7.75 twist.

Can't say, never shot any bullets that heavy. Heaviest I have shot were 90 Bergers with 40.5 n-550 for 3350 fps. From what I have seen posted I would say37-38 for a max and I would start around 34-35. But this is in my gun. your may be different so please make your own decission.

When I started I made a spreadsheet with all the load data published on all the sites I could find.Being careful that it is for the 6x47 Lapua not the 6x47 made from a 22-250 or something else. After I compiled it I took avaerages for say a 70 gr bullet with n550 from several sources both Min and Max and started from there.

A lot of my information came from this web site, it is a great place for help! I just wish they would make a dedicated 6x47 Lapua page .

I see that everyone is using n550. I have n150 can I use this in its place with these loads?

My Openion is no, in the reloading manuals they are listed as different burn rates.
