I am building a 6XC for 600 and 1000m targets and am looking for the right scope for it.
it will be Stiller Predator action, GRS Long Range stock, Krieger HV 1-8twist barrel and Jewel trigger.

I have now Zeiss Diavari 6-24x56 with Z7 reticule, that works out to 700m and Nightforce NSX 12-42x56 with CH3 reticule.

I'm not sure if the Nightforce is the right one for the new build so I might get a new scope...

I am also building a Kelbly Panda 6ppc that will need a scope..

advice for those that shoot 1000 yards is greatly appreciated for the long range gun, and advice from ppc competition shooters for a good scope that fits in HV category.

as to budget... I have none, if it's expensive then I'll just save a few weeks more....

my scopes are already mounted on other rifles so I aint replacing them, just buying a new one.

I've been thinking about March 8-80x and similar but I'd like to hear from those that ownt them to know if it's the right choice..

That NF won't be any good at all! Why don't you send it to me and I will give you a couple of hundred towards your new one. Just trying to help a brother out.... ;)

If you want to take advantage of the 115 class bullets for The 6xc then I would suggest a 1 in 7.5 twist for sure, as far scopes go I like my NightForce . 5.5-22x56

I have a March 8X80 which I use on my Viper heavy gun. I love the scope,it is my favorite, but if money is a concern,I don't think that it is a real advantage over a NF benchrest 12 X 42.The mirage here in Texas usually makes the 80 power impractical during normal match conditions.Personally I think a NF benchrest scope is excellent for the money unless you need the side focus for rapid paralax adjustment, then I would go with a NXS for long range.

Dansig - if you're using your 6PPC for short range benchrest competition, it's hard to beat either a 40 or 45 power Leupold Competition series scope. Depends on what your total weight will be to make either LV (10.5# limit) or HV (13.5# limit). Don

I have shot the 8-80 March for both FT/R and Open since they came out. I can't think of a better scope for your purpose. I consistantly shoot at 60 or above with no issues. Great knobs, great glass and very repeatable. The only issue is the expense. It is worth it for me but everyone is different.

Ask IOR Valdada. I prefer FFP scopes for long range because there is no shift of impact when changing the magnification.

A couple of other considerations. If you're shooting sling then the weight up top could be a consideration, more so than if you're shooting F-class or bench. But in F-class TR as well as bench weight limits are in effect if you're going to do some serious or International competition. I shoot sling and use a Sightron 24X which is all the magnification I can keep up with trying to keep the dot in the X ring. If shooting F or bench then you'll probably want to go with higher magnification to see the smaller X ring. A prime consideration is the windage and elevation movements. They have to be absolutely reliable! Mirage at higher magnifications can be a killer too, so I'm not sure about anything over 36X.
