2011 FORT KNOX GATE REQUIREMENTS

The Fort Knox Physical Security Officer has informed us of the information required from match competitors for entering the post with firearms in 2011. All match competitors who wish to shoot on Scott Mountain Range must fulfill the requirements below.
Fort Knox regulations require competitors who did not pass a background check in 2010 to provide the following information:
1. Full name, including middle name. No nicknames.
2. Last four digits of social security number.
3. Date of birth.
4. Current Address.
5. Rifle type and serial number.
6. Send this information at least 16 days before the match to the Match Director, Bill Balda, 1-800-852-0942 ext. 4536 or bill.balda@ky.govThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Competitors only need to be submitted for a background check and approved by Fort Knox once for the next three years. Shooters who have passed a background check but are bringing a new rifle onto Fort Knox must submit the rifle type and serial number to the Match Director at least 16 days before the match. Bring only the rifles you plan to shoot.
This information will be collected by the Match Director until 4:30 pm on the third Thursday before each match. • March 3 for High Power and Long Range on March 19-20.

• June 30 for EIC and Long Range on July 16-17.
• September 1 for State Championship High Power and Long Range on September 17-18 and John C. Garand Match on September 24.
Travel Directions: All shooters must enter the post through Chaffee Gate. When stopped at the gate and asked where you are going, say that you are traveling to Scott Mountain Range and the gate guards will check your name on the roster. Be sure to have current government issued ID, your driver's license, and current vehicle registration and proof of insurance with you. After clearing the gate, drive down Bullion to Eisenhower and turn right and go under the railroad tracks to the traffic light and turn left onto Brandenburg Road. Continue down Brandenburg Road to Frazier Road (just after the railroad tracks), turn right onto Frazier Road and go to the four way stop at Wilson Road, go straight through the intersection and travel down Main Range Road past French Range. Continue down Main Range Road and go down an extremely steep hill. At the base of the hill turn left onto Porter River Road, follow Porter River Road across the bridge to the first gate on the right, turn right and go up the steep hill on the gravel road.
