Long range 7 rem mag sendero load

Looking for accurate proven loads in a sendero 7 mag. Deer season is comming soon and i need help. I'll be using hornady XLD-X bullets. Using O.A.L. gauge and bullet comparator I found my bullets kissing the lands at average 2.723. Any help with proven loads would be appreciated. Thanks

Every gun is different. Even with a Sendero the loads one likes might not be too in another. I woukd try a proven powder lime 4831 and work up to see what it likes. Matt

150, 162 or 175 is your choice for the 7mm( ELD-X wise). Each may vary in powder preference. RL22 will perform with all those weights very well. Whether your particular gun likes the combination is another story. H1000 and RL22 will work great with heavier bullets and I found H4831 likes a bit lighter bullets...at least in my experience. For a deer gun I'm guessing you'll stick with the 162s and H4831, RL22 and H1000 worked well for me. Your gun will like one of those best I'm sure.

150 Nosler ballistic tip. Standard primer. 68 grains IMR 7828. Federal case. This is max load in the books. Don't be stupid, start lower.

I load for 4 different senderos and best loads are 67gr h-1000 180gr berger vld. have taken this load out to 1400yds with all 4 guns!

I really like Re25 with 160/175-grain bullets in my 7 mags. I run the 160 Partition right at 3000 fps and the Hornady should be about the same. The 175 really likes Re33, also, in my 26-inch barrels. I get over 3000 fps with 175 Hornady Interlocks.

My go-to deer load for years, has been Re22 under a 139 Interlock. I am not a mega-range shooter, but it is spot on to 550 yards (length of my range) and I actually shot it on one 1000-yard range and was impressed.

I also really liked the 139 over IMR 7828. This produced great velocity, but I usually keep my 139 loads around 3100 fps. This, as well as the other loads, are 1/2 moa in my rifles.

Jlt, I have an edge that ate 89.2g h1k at 2780fps. I loaded 89.2 of the new stuff and it flattened primers and was around 2900+fps. Read about it happening to others also.

Thanks for the information. I have yet to try H1000 - I have an ample supply of H870 - but this sort of information comes in VERY useful. I hate having to use a mallet to open a bolt.

In 1970 PO2 Thomas N. Treinen, USN shot >> 100-20V+12V to win the Wimbledon Cup 1000 yard match with a 7mm Magnum. I think you can get the details at Sierra Bullets. The powder used was IMR 4350. Adjust the powder charge to the bullet you want to use.
