Long Range 22 cal suggestions

This thread is four and one half years old. I think the OP's moved on by now.
No, I'm still around. Still looking at different calibers. Right now shooting a tight neck 22-250 and have a 22 Dasher reamer on order. Searching for info on 22-284. Had some info then computer crashed so starting over. Need a reamer for a 22 PPC so if anyone has one to sell let me know.

Anyone with new info feel free to jump in.

George

Get a hold of Jerry Sharrett over on Benrest Central.. he should have a lot of info on that one for you.

Might consider a 22Creedmoor

Mine has numerous pigs and couple dozen deer to it credit..
Oh and coyotes lots of coyotes.

That's an idea, a 22 creedmore. Just a bit less case capacity than a 260. Better on barrels and more velocity than a 22-250 ai. How's accuracy and resizing the brass ?

I have a set of custom Whidden 22 Creedmoor dies so I FL size always and I have shot steel with this rifle out to 1000 meters with no issues. Fun to shoot and with 6mm Creed brass easy to downsize. I have even loaded Lapua 22-250 rounds and fired them in the rifle so that is a nice upside too. Neck will be shorter with 22-250 brass but works.

Did I mention it works for coyotes.

Sounds interesting. Anyone have a print they can post? Need to see how it compares to some of the other case like the 6x47L or my 220 Rocket. More data.

Have a 22 Dasher reamer coming on the 16th. Have a couple ideas working as well.

Where did you get the dies to form that cartridge ? Don't think I've seen that 22 creedmore in die sets.

Maybe Venatic will send you a piece of fired brass for all those measurements...LOL.

It doesn't matter how old this thread is...I'm tagging onto it as well.... you just gotta love those Hot 22's.

Searching for info on 22-284.

George I run a 28" 8tw .22-.284 and push the 80 grain A-Max to 3750 fps MV. No pressure signs, very accurate and really helps with my lack of wind skills. The A-Max perform very well at distance.

Mr. Majestic,

What powder are you using in your .22-284????

How many rounds so far on that barrel ? Wondering it's life expectancy ?
