Was out calling w a pal this morning.
Had a nice male come sneaking up a drainage he did not see since he was watching another direction.
I was 80yds away on a hill top against a post.
Coyote is focused on the flopping decoy n call. Dont see me and as I shift gun on him, he freezes not sure of me, thwaaap, drops on the spot.
Pal leaves gun at call, we walk to dead one, pictures, cut ears and another coyote starts yapping away for its partner.
I can see it, then pal says shoot it. I drop sticks, go prone to steady up, range he says is 470yds, I dial to 500 and crank to 14x.
I lay down he moves barrel in line w dog, sheesh its like a pdog at 700 yds.
My reticle almost covers it, double check range, 470 pal says. Coyote is yapping away sitting facing us so I center on chest thwaaap, loud thunk it drops like a brick.
Dang yea, you have to know your dial or holdovers!
Big male, small female on hill.

Savage in 6x6.8, 90g sierra TGK, 3049 fps....deadly.
