Lone Wolf vs. McMillian Stocks

Can anyone tell me about the Lone Wolf and McMillian stocks that weight ca. one pound. I am wanting to build a top drawer ultra-light rifle and would like to know more about these two stocks. I think the McMillian is called "the Edge",maybe) and the Lone Wolf is their classic style mountain stock. This will be going on a Remingtom 700 action. Would be very interested in texture, quiteness, fit and finish, etc,,

I know the Edge is a competition stock, with a flat forend and flat side to ride the bags well, comes in 3" or 2.25" for BR or HBR comp. Not really what you are looking for in a hunting /carry rifle.

the HUNTERS Edge seems to be the stock of interest here, not the BR Edge

Dont have much experience with the lone wolfs, but i dont think you can go wrong with either. See how price and delivery time fit into you schedule.

Have you considered the Bansner? I'm waiting on delivery of mine at moment, this is for a lightweight 300WSM I'm having built on a MRC action.

I'll keep you posted, but they are a very highly regarded stock.

I recently had a Summit model Lone Wolf stock installed on a Remington 700. It is a nice stock and Lone Wolf did a nice job, but the width across the magazine is 2.1", which is wider by about 2 tenths of an inch than anything else in the gun safe. For that reason I would not have another one.
