Loads for a 300RUM Sendero

Need some Pet Loads for a 300RUM might try using the 185 Berger VLD to start with.

Best for my 26" 700 custom was just below max load of Reloader 25 with 180 Ballistic Tips......very accurate....and I tried most suitable powders.

I like hodgon extreme powders--they'll work---no point of impact change with temp. extremes. IMO the other powder brands cannot compete with its temperature stability. For hunting, especially at long range, this is a very nice attribute. For paper\short range maybe it is not so important. My 300 RUM likes H-1000 and Retumbo with the 185 bergers. I prefer RETUMBO-I get better case fill and think it shoots a little better in my setup.

98gr. of Retumbo behind a 180gr. Swift Scirrocco,3.60" OAL This load shoots Sub-MOA in 3 sendero's and my brothers BDL s/s.

I use the max load of H1000 and 200 grain barnes tsx. great accuaracy and amazing killing powder. On my particular set up I also mounted a leupold vx111 with the varmit recticle.....very good reference points for the 300rum.

No kidding... At 95 grains of powder per shot... Better start with a couple of pounds of Retumbo!

Seriously, it is an excellent powder for the .300 RUM. Just seemed to go through it mighty fast!
