loads for 30 br

guys i am building myself 30 br 1-17 twist . i have 8208 , 203 and some rl 15. i like alot of people i talk to have trouble finding powder these days . right now this is what i got . however let me know what to look for, in my quest for propellant . thanks in advance. mike burns
P.S. a couple months ago i was looking for loads for a 308 i posted here and got some good ones .

The vast majority of 30 BR shooters use H4198 but some don't. The article above is a good starting place.

+1 for 4198. Get your rig shooting tip top with that first, then explore alternatives. 4198 is just proven... Good luck finding some though.

H4198......emphasis on the "H".....the IMR is NFG in this case.

RE 7, H322, and VV130 are also good choices for 108 - 130 gr. bullets.

Agreed, almost everyone uses H4198.

I stand corrected. Should never ASSUME!
Look at RG's notes on the 30BR page: "Most 30BR rigs display a “sweet spot” between 2950 fps and just under 3000 fps, then again at about 3050 fps. With 118gr bullets, my barrels deliver these velocities at, respectively, 32.7 grains and 34.8 grains of H4198."
So try and hit those velocities with whatever powder you can get your hands on. At least you'll be in the ballpark until you can find som H4198. ;D

Not to highjack this thread.... but I have a 30 br with a Hart 1 in 18 twist and have been using IMR4198. For some reason I assumed that IMR4198 was THE powder. I have been getting pretty good results but since being enlightened to the use of H4198 I got 2 pounds. I can't wait to try it out.

Call Shyda's in Lebanon, PA. I picked up 3lbs of H4198 from them a couple weeks ago. They are a good outfit.

Bibs, 10x, Euber.....all becoming scarce and very costly due to jacket shortage. When they become available again, Speer 125 TNT's work great for production bullets.
