Loads for .30-.338 Lapua

Does anyone have any loads for the 200+ grain bullets such as the Berger 210gr VLD and the Sierra 200, 220 and 240gr Match Kings in the .338 Lapua case necked down to .30 caliber? I think this cartridge is certified in Europe as the .300 Lapua Magnum but I don't think that there is a SAAMI spec for it.

Hi,

you´ll find loads for 200 and 220grs Sierra MK´s at the Vithavuori Reloading Guide 2008....even online.
Look for .300 Lapua Magnum Data.

Thanks for your reply. I have seen the Lapua and VV manuals, but I was wondering if people are pushing the heavy bullets beyond the max loads in those manuals.
Thanks again.

I shot a 30-338 Lapua shortened to 2.350" in 36" barrel. The bullets are 200gr Cauterucios at 3100fps. They are driven with 72gr of H1000 and no pressur with rounded primers. I shot another rifle that is similar but a 300WM with 82gr Retumo and the 200gr MK at 3400 FPS. I could shoot more powder in the 30-338 but it gives quarter size groups a 300 meters so I left alone. Hope this helps.

I noticed that in Lapua Manual with 85gr of N170 they are getting 3000 fps in a full unaltered case. The barrel is 27".

Thanks for the input. I have heard people talking about shortening the case, and I have been thinking about that also. Sounds like it might be easier on the barrel and I like the idea of a 6mm BR on steroids. I also like the long barrels. My 6mm BR has a 32 inch barrel Heavy Palma barrel and I like the way it shoots. What diameter is your 36 inch barrel and is it hanging off the action or are you using a barrel block?
Thanks again
