loading .338 win mag

I reload for 5 ruger .338win mag rifles. I finally got some 250gr bergers and started reloading. using berger data with imr-4350 I got up to max load but with cony they were going way to slow. using cony I got up to 67grs and got the 2600fps I was looking for as I have loaded .338 for over 20 years. 4 of the rifles loved that load and shot great out to 900yds. the last rifle shot bad like over 4in @ 100yds!this gun shoots noslers okay but I cant see how it can shoot bergers so bad. checked the gun out but cant find problem. anybody have any ideas?

Interesting experiment. Five identical rifles with four seemingly the same, only one out. I would have expected more variation between them. You can try a ladder test for powder charge, another for seating depth. If you have access to a bore scope it would be worth comparing the 'good' barrels to the 'bad' one. The bedding of that one rifle may need some attention. If each has it's own scope, try switching to one of the scopes on the rifles that are shooting better.

Each Rifle have their own ammo and brass? Brass neck sized for that particular gun? or full length sized to fit that particular chamber?

If ammo is tailored to the specific gun, I would be looking at scope base and rings for loose or broken screw.

If ammo is loaded bulk and shared between all 5 rifles, I would say you are doing AWESOME to find four liking the same load. I tried that with 8mm Mausers, 30-06, 303 British, 7.62x54R, and many other "sets" of rifles that were same caliber. Brand new brass and loads did ok, but did not get real optimum accuracy and repeatability until I loaded specifically for each rifle. Plinking and fun loads yes, worked great in bulk. Long range took tailoring the ammo to fit each gun.

My nickels worth of info....

Steve :)
