Loading 224 valkarie

Trying to find powder for balk 224 with 60 gr bullet does anyone have a pet load we can start with? Thanks gmorris

The 224 Valkyrie was my hardest to get to shoot accurately rifle in AR 15 platform....I generally went for 80 to 95 gr match bullets to take advantage of the cartridges advantage over the 5.56... changed to 6.5 twist barrel, and bolt carrier centering pads made it a .5" to .75" 5 shot AR accuracy shooter.
RL-17 was the go to powder with 80 to 95 gr match bullets. Winchester 748 provided accuracy with 40 gr Nosler BT, 50 gr Speer TNT, or Sierra and 52 gr match with powder charges in the 25.5 to 26.5 area with 748 and increased to 27.7 gr for the 40 gr Nosler BT...not particularly fast but fairly accurate in my 6.5 twist AR 15 in 224 Valkyrie, but for me I'd just take the 5.56 for small varmints and light bullets...for coyotes, or long range, and heavier bullets the Valkyrie has the advantage. You will have to find out what your barrel likes....a lot of my fast twist barrels 8, 7, & 6.5 shoot the 40 gr Nosler BT well almost like a 14 twist.
