Loading 223, Benchmark, and 80 gr SMKs

OK, here is my story.

I have a new shooter that I am loading some 600 yd ammo for. We already have some good loads for Varget and RL-15 with the 80 SMK.

Has anybody used Hogden Benchmark in the 223 with 80 gr SMKs?

If so, what is your load? Anything that is close in velocity to 24.5 gr of Varget. I have about 4 lbs of Benchmark and would like to use it up on his LR loads.

Thanks for the help.

I just happened to do some work with this load a couple days ago. The best I got with the 80gr smk was using 22.2gr of benchmark seated 0.015 off the lands with an ar15. MV was 2690 average with a 10 shot SD of 11 using WSR primers and LC brass. It was showing a bit of pressure so I'm going to switch primers and give it a go again. Given that you posted about 5 months ago, I imagine you've already developed a load, but if not, there ya go.

Might want to check the date on the original post again... ::)
