I finished my Lee Six Thumbhole stock finally and man it came out ok not great by the standard standards on here for custom rifles but great by my trailer park upbringing standards lol and not to brag on myself but it was a doublewide. Ill try and post pictures from my cell phone tomorrow.
Rifle is a Haverkamp with a 26 inch tapered Krieger barrel 1-8 twist throated for 108 bergers, Jewell trigger, SIII 10x50 Kelby rings.
My load that was shooting really well was 30.5 grains of RL15 seated .010 into lands. Well today before I left I loaded some 30.6 and 30.7 grains and man I am glad I did. 30.6 shot better than I ever have in my life and considering I have shot in two matches and got last place in both which is 1st place if you read right to left.....I also switched to Tula Primers I don't know if it had anything to do with it but man it shot great.
I was shooting this is a McCrees Chassis with a 3 inch wide aluminum plate for the front rest and it shot good. I had my stock clearcoated the other day and it came out ok...If I mailed this thing to Preacher for inspection he probably wouldn't use it as a doorstop but its good enough for my double wide vision. I bedded it with Devcon Putty and man it came out great I wasted enough to bed 2 other rifles but live and learn.
I am not sure if it is the new stock or what but man this thing came alive today I shot two groups at 300 that will measure under 1/2 inch I know this isn't a group that will blow your hat back but man its great for me. I did shoot a 3/8 inch group the other day but it was the only one even close to that so I cant count it plus the action was loose in the chassis so I cant figure out how it shot so well.
This is the second firing on the Lapua brass maybe that helped or the switch to Tula Primers but I cant wait to get out tomorrow and shoot these accidental loads to backup testing and get some good Chrono numbers. Sorry for bouncing around but I am super excited. Now I want to build a Dasher lol
