Load for a 300 win mag.

Okay fellas, loading for a new rem 300 win mag, 1in 10 twist 26 inch barrel, wanna load for hunting already have some nosler 180 bt, but am up for suggestions, whats a good powder for this thats not bad temp sensitive. Just want a good round. Thanks for any help.

My 300m worked very well with h4350 and h4831, in the 160 and 180, i prefered the 180s

turned grops in the 300s and velocity in the 3100+ with Hart 26 etc.

The Nosler Ballistic tip bullets are good for plinking and deer size animals but are NOT elk bullets, with that being said I have always had the best overall success with RL-22 and Federal 215m primers, second choice H4831 and Fed 210M primers. I don't like to give out exact loads as every rifle is different and what is safe in mine may be very dangerous in yours but you will find load data for both powders in most manuals, I am shooting 210 burgers in one rifle with excellent success, another rifle really likes the 180 tssx Barns bullets and both like the 180 Accubonds, I have not killed any elk with the accubonds yet out of the .300wm but I have killed two with my little 7mm-08 and 140 accubonds with one shot kills but they were picture book shots I don't know how they would hold up if you center punched the front shoulder, I do know the Barns don't care where they go or what they hit.

I shoot 77.5 grns H4831 with 165 AccuBonds at 3115. I get half inch to 5/8's regularly. It is a freak gun with a standard 24" factory tube. Just happened to hit the node for it.

And ten years later, it still shoots that good.

I'd skip the mag primer. Its not needed at all.
180g Ballistic tip will kill anything, anywhere.
Anyone saying otherwise spends to much time reading on the internet.
Hope this helps

We're getting 3000 fps with 180 accubonds, 78.0 of H1000, loaded to 3.350 OAL. Federal GMM Magnum primers.

You should look at the 185 Berger hunting bullet and the Sccroco II's.

Those berger 185s aren't bad when loaded long. But they were horrible when loaded to mag length.

My buddy wanted a mag length load for his hunt, so we had to stick with Tangant ogive bullets like the Accubond.

I have used RL22 with both 180 NBT'a and 210 Berger VLD's in factory 300 win's with great sucsess!! Tried other powders...RL 22 was the best for me.

RL-22 is always a excellent choice for the .300wm,...@ least it has been the powder of choice for the last 6 .300wm that I have owned, not my powder of choice but the rifles powder of choice, followed by H-4831.

A strong second for the Barnes. I load my brother's with 180 TSX, R22 at 3075fps and everything he shoots falls or goes less than 25yds. This with 1/2" 3 shot 100 yd grps.
