load for 95gr sierra HPBT useing VARGER powder on 6mmbr

Fdshuster's load will probably work, but that's a MAX load in my gun. With a tighter bore, shorter freebore and a faster lot of Varget you should start lower. I suggest starting at 30.0 gr varget with bullet 0.010 in the lands (i.e. 0.10 past first contact with lands). If that doesn't work, try going immediately to .040 out and work back in. You may have to adjust your load as you change seating depth. Understand that pressure will drop a bit as you come away from the lands, but pressure will then start to rise again as you seat the bullet deeper and deeper in the case. At .040 jump you have reduced the effective case capacity, causing the pressure rise.

Yes to what the moderator said. I started at 31 grs. of Varget, no pressure signs, and bumped up to 31.5, still no signs of pressure, in a Krieger 8 twist (.237"), and a Hart 1-8. I should have added the cautionary note, but this load has been so problem free (and accurate) I didn't give it a thought. Performs out to 500 meters if minimal wind, if more then I go to the 107 SMK with 30 grs. of Varget.

My reamer cuts a zero freebore and the 95 SMK O.A.L. runs approx. ( with the differences in bullet O.A.L.) 2.310", 1.715" from the case head to the bullet ogive touching, measured with the Hornady gauge. Full .243" dia. where it meets the boatail is approx. .070" forward from the neck/shoulder junction. With the 107 SMK, O.A.L. is approx. 2.315", same dimension from the case head to the ogive. Full .243" dia. where it meets the boatail is right at the neck/shoulder junction, and no, none of my cases have the "donut", ever. ;)
