Load data for.460 Weatherby, under 300 gr.

May get to shoot in the next two weeks. Will send results after shooting.
Thank you, Bob

Sorry, just catching up with replies. I don't get an alert when someone replies.
The .460 is still in layaway, haven't picked it up yet. Unexpected expenses have set me back a bit. I have base mounts, brass and dies but that's as far as I have gotten. Will post later when able. All replies have been saved .
Thanks, Bob

Bob, Have you checked with the guys here? https://www.africahunting.com/community/
Search Forums pulldown at the top should bring up some info for the .460 Weatherby in all bullet weights.

Bob
If you want a bullet that will practically blow up inside a deer when fired at high velocity from a 460, try the 405gr ones intended for the 45-70. Even the light weight Barnes will stay intact. Check a couple of them to find the lightest construction and that would be a good place to start. Full power 460 loads will push them 2900 or so and they will violently expand. Some fragments may penetrate completely but you will have accomplished your objective.
Ya's got's your Roebucks, and ya got's your Gemsboks and your Blackbucks, ya even got a Biddebuck and now........ the Gelbuck!

Bob, Go to user profile,go to left side of page that says "Alerts" put in your alert preferences.Maybe that will help you with notices..

Full power loads will have heavy recoil with any weight bullet. I would personally start with reduced loads.

Forgot to mention with first shot at a deer nov.21'18.
I was set up in a blind next to the corner of my neighbors house. Used the corner to deflect muzzle blast from going directly 90 yards or so up the steep hill to another neighbors house. This 460 has the unremovable Pendleton muzzle brake. When I pulled the trigger the blast was so fierce on my left side I almost tipped over in my lawn chair. The muzzle cleared the blind but the siding of the house shot the blast straight back in my direction. It really had a negative impact I will never forget ! Second shot that week I was far better prepared for the repercussion. A real eye opener !
