Lines left on bullet after pointing.

Just after pointing a few 200g hybrids for my FTR rifle closing hollow point by 50% with a Hoover pointing die with B-2 insert and have noticed lines left on ogive section of bullet am guessing some jacket material has stuck to inside of insert which has scratched bullets in tipping process would removing thease lines with fine steel wool be advised or will accuracy not be effected for 1000y with thease scratched bullets, thanks.

PaulT,
Unless they are deep scratches it shouldn't be an issue. Only if the lines of the scratches project ABOVE the surface of the bullet would they cause a problem with trajectory or precision. Regarding precision, the same reality applies in that the lines are probably to thin and shallow to affect the balance around the axis. Being on the ogive they are closer to the axis and they are in the area of the bullet jacket that is only partially filled with lead. The rear of the bullet has a much greater influence on bullet balance around the axis.
