Lightwieght Scope Recomendation

Goal: Lightweight scope for a light rifle (6CM), Texas whitetails not over 300 yds.

I am looking at the following:

1. 3x9x40 VX3i Leupold @ 12.6 oz

2. 2.5x8x36 VX3i Leupold @11.4 oz

3. 3x10x42 Z3 Swarovski @ 12.7 oz

How do they compare in the real world?

Thoughts on which has the clearest glass?

Is there a difference in low light perforamce?

Advantages- disadvantages of each?

Anything else that I should look at given that I am trying to keep the weight under 15 oz?

For the moment, I am not looking at cost, my wife will help with that variable.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

VX2 3-9x33 EFR fine duplex

I put their S1 dial on them.

small light, you can dial out the parallax, reticle is fine enough to shoot small but doesn't disappear in low light

You will not go wrong with any of your three choices. Another one to consider on the used market would be the older version 3x9x40 Zeiss Conquest. Very bright & clear scope. Too bad they quit making them. They also made a 3.5x10x44mm Conquest that is a nice scope, I have owned both. Similar in size & weight to the VX2 Leupold 3x9x40mm.

My critera for a scope for hunting use would not include weight difference of ounces. Thtow that out of the equation and you will be ahead of the game.

My two best hunting scopes of all times were the 6x42 Leupold with a dot and the 3 power Leupold with a 4min. dot super fast and I killed more deer and elk over 300 yds with them. Just remember big powerful scope you hunt for small horns ... jim
