I got two antelope opening day with 6mmBR

I got a buck at sun up at 158 yards off the hood of the truck, driving around a knoll out on the prairie of a private ranch in MT.

I got the doe about lunch time from the crotch of the truck body and door on a private dirt road in the same ranch. That was 250 yards.

Both I aimed for the lungs broadside and hit inches high in the spine. Bang flop. I checked the rifle. It is dead on. I am yanking up the trigger with this ultra light rifle. I built it.

95 gr Nosler ballistic tip moly coated 29 gr IMR-4166 [temp stable, anti Copper fouling coatings] 1.2" OAL.
2800 fps
I sighted it in at 200y, 300y, 400y, and 500y.
For shooting targets it was keeping up with the larger caliber and heavier rifles.
I have built and I have bought a lot of sub moa rifles, but this is the first 7 pounds with scope rifle that shot that straight.

When I was developing a load I put in too much powder and the CCI 450 small rifle mag primers pierced. With ~ 5 primer plugs inside the bolt it was hard to cock. I took apart the Rem 700 bolt and cleaned it.

Factory: Browning B78 25-06
Heavy: Rem700 7mmRM
Lite: Rem700 6mmBR

I guess I learned I like lightweight 6mmBR for hunting.
