Light scope rings

Lightest, i'm not sure about.
I typically use EGW one piece bases, which are kinda tall, with Vortex Viper low rings.
This setup works with up to a 50mm objective for my cheek weld.

Who makes the lightest 30mm, low, aluminum, picattinny scope rings ?
I weighed about a dozen sets of scope rings a few months back. In my collection, comprising Badger, NF, TPS, Burris, Brownells, USO, and Farrell, the NF (Nightforce) 'Ultralite' rings were the lightest.

I suggest you not focus on terms like "low" when dealing with rings, because most of the mfgs use different specs. "Low", medium, high, etc. mean different dimensions from brand to brand.

As to NF Ultralite, the lowest ring height they offer in 30mm is 0.885" if I remember right.

Regardling Kelbly rings, I excluded them from this list because mine are designed to fit their dovetail base (as you would see on a Panda action) rather than a Picatinny. But it could be that they make such rings (to fit their Atlas I presume). Google is your friend, or call Kelbly's. Very nice people there.

Not trying to interrupt, but I have a question. Why the lightest? I'm sure you have a good reason, I truly just dont understand how weight of rings would apply.
Please dont blow me up, just learning!!!

Rob, it's a good question. #1 priority should be rings that are strong enough to hold the scope so it won't shift POI (point-of-impact). #2 should be whatever else is important, e.g. weight, height, finish, etc.

If the rings meet #1, then I will take lighter over heavier. OTOH, how a rifle is used affects #1. Will it be dragged around (sometimes literally) in a military application, or will it be gently handled and lovingly placed on a benchrest at a match where overall weight limits are in effect.

Hope this helps.

p.s. My favorite rings in general are Night Force 'Ultralite'.

Makes perfect sense! Thank for the education!!!

I have a pair of Kelbly 30mm picatinny rings on a Panda F-Class action & a bunch of Ken Farrell rings. (which I really like a lot) Most (not all) manufacturers measure height from top of rail to center of scope tube. My Harrells "0 MOA" rail will be here in a day or 2, then I will get a measurement on exactly the height that I need. This is going on a short range (300 yards MAX) very lightweight coyote hunting rifle & thats the reason for keeping the rings as light/low as possible. I also have a pair of Harrells rings (dovetail) on another Panda action. They are very nice especially for the price, but I don't know anyone that has used their picatinny rings yet.
