Light for seeing blood (color blind)

I am color blind and red/brown is about as bad as it gets for me. I can't see blood on leaves. Anyone know of a light or glasses that would help?

Primos manufactured a lamp the made blood more visible when the light hit it. The blood appeard to be illuminated or to glow when the light hit it. We used the lamps for years tracking bears here in MN. They really worked well. I suggest you check out the Primos web site. good Luck,

I was going to say a coleman lantern also. I have a small flashlight that has a blue shade that fits over the light and it make blood shine more for me. Also a spray bottle with hydrogen peroxide is good. You spray what your think is blood and it will foam up white. It comes in handy where I hunt because there are so many leaves that have red spots all over them that looks just like blood.

There is an app for the Iphone called dancam I think. It allows you to enhance different areas of the color spectrum. It won't replace the missing rod cells in your eyes but it does help you distinguish the different colors once you tune it. That being said as a fellow color challenged person I look for textures or or other changes when I'm looking for a blood trail. Good luck

I am not color blind but I can tell you that a 1 or 2 million candle-power spotter with a belt battery pack really lights it up. There are so many red things on the ground that you are looking more for the shiny droplets. As a buddy put it, when the blood runs out, you can track 'em on slobber. The same guy also claimed he could track 'em on the ants on the slobber. Of course the game warden may frown on this type of light in the deer woods.

Thanks, guys. I will definitely keep some hydrogen peroxide in my pack, anyone know if that works on dry blood or just wet blood? I don't know if a lantern will help me. I was tracking last year, there was water drops on the leaves, couldn't tell the difference between water and blood. I'll look into the Primos light as well.
