lf You Had Just ONE BULLET CHOICE for Prairie Dogs??

What would it be for 22 cal? Mine is a 40 grain VMAX. They shoot GREAT in just about ALL 22 caliber center fires. They work in my 22-250. They are a NATURAL for 223 Remingtons. 222 Rem loves them too. A 40gr VMAX is ldeal in 221 Fireball. l even shoot them in a 10'' bull barrel TC Contender 22 Hornet. Those 40gr VMAX will even topple a 55 pound IHMSA RAM @ 200 Meters from that Contender with a high hit. Prairie Dogs simply go to PIECES when hit with a 40gr VMAX

35-gr. V-Max, but I really prefer the 32 in .204.

I want to see the explosion, not see the scattered parts afterwards. I can't do that with a 50-gr. bullet, or even a 40-gr. I might with a brake, but then I couldn't shoot suppressed, which is a must for me on PD's. My 204 Rem. 700 (package, including suppressor) weighs 18 lbs, and even with the 32's I miss some hits. The 32's work great out to 400 yards, which is all the challenge I need.

Well, usually. This one was a first-shot kill at just over 500.

I use the 53 grain V-Max out of a 1 in 12 twist stainless steel Brux barrel finished at 24". I'm using neck turned Lapua brass CCI 200 primers and IMR 8208 XBR powder and that combination gives me a muzzle velocity of 3,743 fps. The action and stock are from a Tikka Master Sporter. I experimented with CFE223 and got some decent groups too, but the IRM 8208 XBR gave me the smallest groups. The devastation caused by these bullets is spectacular!!!

The 53 Gr V-Max is hard to beat. After trying many different bullets, and most of the were very good, my first choice is still the 53Gr. V-Max. I would (do) use a 10" twist.

50 gr Blitzking in .223 and 55 gr Blitzking in .22-250. Sometimes it's windy where you find prairie dogs and sometimes there are some long shot.

I am cheap but want accuracy for high volume shooting.

50g tnt
50g Sierra lead tip

55g Tnt

Sierra Blitz kings are the most explosive. We went 250 straight with each kind of bullet, swapping shooters. 100% agreement. Blitz kings have match quality jackets also.

50 gr Vmax. A.D.D.
Disclaimer. Have not shot the blitz king in 50 gr.
By far the 70 gr blitzking is the shi$. Unbelievable explosion from 6 br. Almost too nasty to watch..
